The arrival of big stars like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami has put the spotlight on MLS. While there were already other great players in the popular American tournament, the arrival of 'La Pulga' made it even more attractive. However, the 'Herons', currently chaired by David Beckham, aim to strengthen themselves for the next season and have set their sights on another great friend of the Argentine star.
According to information provided by the newspaper Sport, the American club is interested in Sergi Roberto, one of the most important pieces in Xavi Hernandez's scheme at FC Barcelona. Although the versatile player has not been able to reach the role of a starter, he has participated in eleven matches of the campaign, accumulating minutes and even scoring (against Granada).
The Spanish midfielder is very motivated with his new role in the Blaugrana squad, although it is inevitable that at 31 years old, there is talk about his future. In the midst of this, during this international break, his name has reappeared on the agenda of Inter Miami, a team that hopes to secure his services for the upcoming season.

After the break for the FIFA dates, Inter Miami has chosen to take advantage of their elimination from the Major League Soccer playoffs and has signed an agreement to participate in two exhibition matches next month. With Messi at the helm, the "Herons" will face two teams from the Chinese Super League in friendly matches. The first of these games will take place on November 5th in Qingdao, where they will face Qingdao Hainiu. Subsequently, on November 8th, they will play against Chengdu Rongcheng in Chengdu.
"This will be a great opportunity to continue building with the team in the 2023 campaign when we won our first trophy," said the team's sports director, Chris Henderson, in a statement released by the team. "We will take it as an opportunity to start our preparations for 2024, when we will try to build upon this season and find greater success in the future," he commented. The stadiums that will host the matches have a capacity ranging from 50,000 to 60,000 spectators and have highly modern facilities.
The first match of the friendlies will take place in the city of Qingdao, where they will face the local team, Qingdao Hainiu, which is currently in 13th position out of the 16 teams that make up the top division. The second match will be played against Chengdu Rongcheng, currently in sixth place in the league. Both exhibition matches are under the direction of Argentine coach Gerardo Martino, who is looking to improve Miami's weaknesses in their recent matches.
