The issue is that Gremio wants the player to not play for any other team for the remainder of 2023 once he leaves the club. Suarez argues that if he recovers in a month, he has every right to return to the field.
The Uruguayan has been experiencing pain in his right knee since May, and Gremio's three doctors have certified the condition. At that time, Suarez stated that he was willing to continue playing until they found a replacement, but Gremio has not yet found one. "He feels that he cannot perform at Gremio due to the high salary he receives and the expectations of the fans, and that is why he wants to reach this agreement to leave.
