After a long wait and a social media campaign promoted by Bolso fans, the 35-year-old footballer arrived in his country, but some were wondering how much the Uruguayan team's new reinforcement would earn.
The president of Nacional took responsibility for answering that question without revealing the exact amount offered to Luis Suárez, ensuring that his payment does not represent a risk for the club.

"He comes for a player's salary. Nacional doesn't mortgage anything or put anything at risk by bringing Suárez, who has shown great generosity in that sense. Suárez doesn't cost Nacional more than a salary. Just so you can see, not only what he stopped earning, but also what he's coming here for. Despite the enormous challenge in terms of security and administration, I am clear that everything that comes will be good," said José Fuentes.
According to the Uruguayan press, the 'Pistolero' would receive a maximum of $30,000 as payment. This would be a salary cap established at Nacional during the administration of a former executive (José Decurnex).
