New coach of the Uruguayan national team, Diego Alonso, chosen by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) this Tuesday, showed his motivational side in a video before the final of the 2019 Concacaf Champions League that his former team, Monterrey from Mexico, won against Tigres.

The "rayados" had won the first away final and before going out on the pitch for the second final, the Tornado gave them a pep talk, with phrases to encourage his players.
"We have to play a perfect emotionally levelled match, of emotional intelligence, tremendous, since we leave, mentality," he said.
"Knowing that we have to play all the time with 11, we can't leave the team stranded because of anger or lack of concentration. The team has to play with 11, with 11 we are impressive, we are unstoppable", Alonso added, shouting.
Later, he mentioned that they should have "control of what happens".
"They know that we want to be champions, because we showed them in the 90 minutes of the previous match," he said.

"I wish you all the best, guys!" was another of his phrases, already at the end of his pep talk. "We have to embrace history, we have to take it, we have to take the paper and the pencil and we are the ones who have to write it," he said.
The final ended in a 1-1 draw and allowed Monterrey to win the Concacaf Champions League, the second title of the main Concacaf club tournament won by Alonso, who secured the qualification for the Club World Cup in Japan, where they finished third after losing in the semifinals against Liverpool from England.
Now, the new national team coach will have to appeal to all his experience as a coach and motivator to lead Uruguay to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
