Alianza Lima wants to prolong the celebration at Matute. A celebration to which Deportivo Municipal was invited, with which they will face each other from 6:00 p.m. (Gol Peru) this Sunday at the Alejandro Villanueva, for matchday 3 of Group B of the Torneo de Verano.
Both teams arrive with high morale. On one hand, Alianza Lima comes from defeating their eternal rival, Universitario, adding three points to the table. Meanwhile, Deportivo Municipal prevailed over Juan Aurich at their home stadium in Villa El Salvador.
For Sunday's match, Alianza Lima coach Pablo Bengoechea will only make one change in the starting eleven. Aurelio Gonzales Vigil will be the only forward in place of the injured Lionard Pajoy.
"One has to take advantage of the opportunities that come. It's bad when a teammate gets injured, but sometimes these situations arise. Throughout the year, the coach has asked for very specific things from the players in all positions and each one has to respect them," said the 'Lobito'.
Alejandro Hohberg, Uruguayan Luis Aguiar, and Argentine Germán Pacheco will complete Alianza Lima's offensive block.
Meanwhile, Bengoechea analyzed the strengths of the rival. "Deportivo Municipal is a team that competed very well at the international level. When they had to play at altitude, they were able to have a good match. In the local tournament, they earned their first three points. They have a very clear idea from the coach and do good work on set pieces. We are facing a great team," said the 'Professor'.
Only one doubt
The expectation in Deportivo Municipal revolves around seeing their recent signing Diego Mayora in action. However, coach Marcelo Grioni has not revealed whether he will start the ex-Colón de Santa Fe player or if he will keep Colombian Danny Santoya in the attack.
