Melgar will hold its team presentation on Wednesday, known as the 'Noche Rojinegra'. The Dominó team will face Danubio from Uruguay at the UNSA Stadium.

Melgar will present its new reinforcements, which are: Carlos Ascues, Diego Penny, Argentine Emanuel Herrera, Victor Cedrón, Luis García, Pedro Requena, Wilmer Aguirre, Daniel Chávez, and Nigerian John Utaka. These players will join Ysrael Zúñiga and Colombian Omar Fernández, who will remain with the team for another year.
"We haven't played much football at this time. It takes time for the new players to get used to Juan's idea, to what he wants and projects. That's why we haven't played so much football, but against Danubio it's a good test to develop what we have been working on these weeks," said Diego Penny, who arrived at Melgar in 2017 after not renewing his contract with Sporting Cristal.
It is worth remembering that Melgar has reached the finals of Peruvian football for two consecutive years. The team led by Juan Reynoso won the championship in 2015 against Sporting Cristal, but last year they lost to the same team. This season, the Arequipa team aims to win the national title again and have a better campaign in the Copa Libertadores.
On the other hand, Danubio is already in the country and will be an uncomfortable opponent for Melgar in Arequipa. The Uruguayan team, which has already come to the country for the presentations of Sporting Cristal in 2013 and Universitario de Deportes in 2015, will have former cream player Carlos Grossmuller.
