Universitario de Deportes vs. Universidad Católica, minute by minute
Universitario de Deportes could not close the "crema night" with a win and drew 0-0 in the match against the Universidad Católica of Chile.
Roberto Chale took the initiative in the match and lined up his team with the starters, with the exception of Luis Tejeda, the Panamanian. However, Universidad Católica demonstrated a more consolidated game and, therefore, it was not difficult for them to control the match.
On the other hand, the "cremas", although they tried to be frontal - they were close to opening the scoring with a header and then Juan Manuel Vargas shot a left-footed shot that was diverted by Constanzo to a corner kick - they could not score.
In the second half, Universitario made 10 changes and their pace of play decreased considerably. On the side of Universidad Católica, there was not much determination to seek the attack either.
Local media outlets, however, highlighted that although the national team did not achieve victory, it promises a better performance next Saturday in the second test against Once Caldas, and subsequently in their debut in the Copa Libertadores.
