The coach of the Peruvian National Team, Ricardo Gareca, courted by Independiente de Avellaneda in recent days, categorically ruled out that possibility and assured that he will respect his bond with the 'Blanquirroja'.
"I was not officially called by Independiente to coach the club. I want to and I will respect my contract with the Peruvian national team; I feel very comfortable and happy with the work I have done here," said Ricardo Gareca to Cadena Uno.
Ricardo Gareca, partially approved by the national fans, reaffirmed his commitment to leading the Peruvian National Team in order to fight for qualification to the 2018 Russia World Cup.
"Beyond some results, I am always treated very well in Peru. The qualifiers are complicated for all countries; however, I don't see Argentina being left out. The country that has a good streak in these final matches will have an advantage," added 'El Tigre', as he is known.
The Peruvian National Team had a very regular 2016, according to Argentine coach Ricardo Gareca.
"We are ready to play on equal terms with any South American team. We had a regular year with the Peruvian national team; I finish the year much more satisfied than in 2015. By correcting a couple of details, I believe we have chances to qualify for the Russia World Cup," concluded Ricardo Gareca.
