Bastian Schweinsteiger is going through a very difficult time in his career. The German midfielder is not part of Jose Mourinho's plans at Manchester United and is looking for a team where he can play in the last years of his career.
The arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger generates a lot of interest from several teams, and one of them is Santos from Brazil. The coach himself, Dorival Junior, confirmed that the Paulista team is interested in the player and could try to sign him in 2017.
"It was an internal conversation. Can Santos sign a world-class player? The answer is yes. His name was proposed to the board, as it happened with Seedorf at Botafogo," said the Santos coach.
However, Bastian Schweinsteiger's salary is 800 thousand euros per month, which is very high for a South American team. For this reason, the Santos board hopes that the player will lower his demands, otherwise they will have to look for another world-class player.
"We are not only talking about Bastian Schweinsteiger. Whoever manages to sign a player of this level will naturally take a leap," said the Santos coach.
Bastian Schweinsteiger, 32 years old, joined Manchester United in 2015 after spending his entire career at Bayern Munich. The player, who won everything with the German team, decided to sign with the English team to seek new challenges. However, he has played very little and does not count for Jose Mourinho this season.
Bastian Schweinsteiger retired from the German national team in August of this year. The player has played 121 games with his national team jersey and scored 24 goals. In addition, he won the 2014 World Cup and participated in four European Championships.
