Cristhian and Raúl Pacheco fulfill their dream of running together in the Olympic Games
Brothers Cristhian and Raúl Pacheco fulfilled their dream of running together in the Olympic Games, and in Rio 2016 they managed to finish the race, although they aimed to be at the front, they ended up falling behind.
"I am not satisfied because I haven't achieved what I wanted, which was to be among the top 20. I have to improve," said Cristhian Pacheco.
His brother Raúl gave a reason why the Peruvians started to fall behind in positions after the halfway point of the race. "I think we need more preparation. We lack support from authorities and companies to reach a good position. We are making progress, but we have a lot of work to do. We need to ask for more support because there are many athletes," said Raúl Pacheco after running in Rio 2016.

"We will keep fighting to win an Olympic medal for Peru. As you have seen, we have been competing at the same pace up to kilometer 30. We need to improve those last kilometers, and that can be achieved through better training and international camps," declared the national runner.
"We go out to run head to head against the Africans. We need to prepare for the last kilometers. Authorities should not wait until the last moment to support us," said Raúl Pacheco, who finished 21st in London 2012 and this time in Rio 2016 he finished in 66th place, while his brother Cristhian ran his second marathon and fought among the leaders until kilometer 30.
