José Carranza will be the coach of Universitario de Deportes in the Classic, this due to Roberto Chale being suspended after the agonizing 3-2 victory against Alianza Atlético de Sullana.
The 'Puma' joked about Chale's absence. The 'Puma' commented that the coach of Los Cremas deliberately missed the prelude to the Classic. "The team is focused and eager to have a great match on Thursday. It's my turn to be on the bench on Thursday because Roberto (Chale) 'chickened out' (laughs)", said the assistant.
He defended Trauco. The idol of Universitario de Deportes pointed out that Miguel Trauco's statements, where he said "we have to kill Alianza Lima", were part of the language of football. "He always speaks that way, when he played for the National Team he also said that he's going to kill on the field and he won't do it with a Brazilian or a Colombian. It's a locker room phrase, it's normal", emphasized Carranza.
Edison Flores respects Alianza's attack. The midfielder of Universitario de Deportes is one of the most disruptive players and he doesn't underestimate the missing players of the rival classic. "We have to take care of Alianza Lima's offensive part, they have fast and daring people. The Classic will be on Thursday, July 21st starting at 8:00 pm at the Estadio Nacional. By order of the Police, the match will be played exclusively with Universitario de Deportes' fans and at the closing of this edition, 95% of the 35,000 tickets put up for sale had been sold.
