Already has everything ready. A few weeks before the conclusion of the Liga 1 Betsson, negotiations to assemble Alianza Lima's 2024 team have begun in full force. This time, it was announced that Kevin Serna will finally continue his career in La Victoria. This was revealed by the player's representative, Narciso Algamis, who also gave details of why the operation with Sporting Cristal fell through and what other offers were left behind.
"Sporting Cristal was making an effort to sign him. There are things you can't get involved in and they have to be decided between clubs. They couldn't agree, and the player signed with Alianza Lima," said the agent in Radio Ovación.
He also stated that the contract will be "for four years" and highlighted that Serna "is a player who always plays, physically he is very strong, he is someone who takes good care of himself".
Why did the move to Sporting Cristal fall through? According to Algamis, "each one has their own financial reality, you can't put yourself in someone else's pocket. What happened with Cristal is respectable, but it's a matter of negotiation". But this wasn't the only opportunity that opened up for the Colombian.
The representative revealed that "we rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia 30 days ago due to a family issue, as working there isn't easy for the family. They decided to stay here and I don't think any team would weigh on him because he is a very professional guy and is happy to play for a big team."
Serna's word
Another person who spoke, at the end of the Torneo Clausura, was Serna himself. "This is a strong rumor confirmed by the president himself, so I say goodbye to all these people and I am happy to leave ADT at the highest possible level, and grateful to the whole human group that accompanied us," he told the same media.
The Colombian forward played all 36 matches of the season, scoring a total of six goals and providing eight assists. In addition, he was one of the players who stood out the most in the Tarma team. "The board supported me a lot, and one wants new challenges, to keep advancing. I am very happy with this decision," concluded the footballer, who is about to receive his Peruvian nationality.
