¡Worth a Peru! National surfer Benoit 'Piccolo' Clemente became the Pan American longboard surf champion on Monday by winning the gold medal in the final against the Chilean Rafael Cortez, in the context of the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.

The national surfer, who also won gold at the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019, raised the name of Peru high on the Chilean beach of Punta de Lobos, with a total score of 12.16.

His opponent, local Rafael Cortez, achieved a final score of 10.37.

With Clemente's victory, the Peruvian team won its fourth gold medal at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.

It also holds one silver medal and 11 bronze medals, totaling 16 awards so far in the competition.
