Medal for Peru! Eriberto Gutiérrez won a bronze medal in canoeing at the Pan American Games.

The Apurimeño athlete obtained the third medal that Peru achieved this Sunday, following the victory of Kimberly García and Evelyn Inga in the 20 km race walk.

Eriberto Gutiérrez achieved the bronze medal in slalom canoeing - kayak Cross K1, at the Santiago Pan American Games 2023, adding a new award for Peru.
The athlete from Apurímac, originally from the peasant community of Huirahuacho, has been practicing kayak since he was a teenager and gave this victory to Peru after a difficult race.
"It has been a complicated, very difficult race, but this medal goes to Peru, to all those who have supported me. I feel very happy because I was able to win this medal with a lot of effort," said Eriberto, according to Andina.

Gold: Christian Pacheco (Men's Marathon), Hugo Ruiz (Cycling - Track cycling Omnium), and Kimberly García (Women's 20 km Race Walk).
Silver: Ángelo Caro (Skateboarding).
Bronze: Hugo del Castillo (Taekwondo - Poomsae), David Bardalez (Weightlifting 61 kg), Cristian Morales (Shooting - 10-meter Air Rifle), Luis Ostos (Men's Marathon), Gladys Tejeda (Women's Marathon), Daniella Borda (Shooting - Women's Skeet), Nicolás Pacheco (Shooting - Men's Skeet), Inés Castillo and José Guevara (Badminton Mixed Doubles), Evelyn Inga (Women's 20 km Race Walk), and Eriberto Gutiérrez (Canoeing - Men's Kayak Cross K1).
