Universitario de Deportes will face Sport Huancayo this weekend for matchday 19 of the 2023 Clausura Tournament of Liga 1 and needs a victory to secure the title and play the final against Alianza Lima. Remembering that being the last match of the Clausura Tournament, and considering that all the teams fighting for the title play at the same time, the pronouncement of the authorities was more than necessary.
In that sense, Universitario will be able to have a total of 59,000 spectators, including the 5,240 in the box. That is, almost 60,000 souls will be cheering on the team led by Jorge Fossati, who if they win will become champions of the Clausura and will advance to the national final against Alianza Lima. If they lose or draw, they will have to wait for other results to not leave empty-handed.
What happens if Universitario does not win against Huancayo?
If Universitario draws with Sport Huancayo, they will have to wait for Alianza Lima not to massively score against Deportivo Garcilaso and for Melgar not to beat Binacional in Juliaca. However, if they lose, things get really complicated because they will have to pray for the íntimos and rojinegros to lose, and for Sporting Cristal not to score a lot against Alianza Atlético.
