It has been revealed that Sport Boys has been deducted four points in the overall standings due to debt issues, giving Deportivo Municipal a chance to stay in the league. In the last few matches, Deportivo Municipal was not fighting for any objective as they had already been relegated.

Several journalists have expressed their opinions on this controversial issue, including Camila Zapata, a panelist on DirecTV Sports. She stated that Alianza Lima set a precedent with what happened in 2020.

"What happened with Alianza Lima set a precedent that if a team cannot secure their place through sporting achievements, it is possible to do so through other means and remain in the First Division. I'm not saying it's illegal, I'm saying it set a precedent for other teams," said Zapata on the show De Fútbol Se Habla Así.

Furthermore, Zapata, who is also a reporter for the Liga 1 MAX channel, blamed the clubs and their informal management for the situation.

"What needs to happen is for the clubs to be serious. They should comply with the licensing system, make payments on time, and avoid making mistakes," she added.
