Why is it so serious that injured players like Carlos Zambrano have gone out partying?

Low performance, lots of controversy

The footballers present at the birthday party were Carlos Zambrano, Aldair Rodríguez, Andrés Andrade, Pablo Sabbag, Edinson Chávez, Christian Cueva, and Bryan Reyna. It is worth mentioning that, out of the seven players, only Zambrano is an undisputed starter for Alianza Lima, but he did not play against ADT due to a thigh tear.

Aldair Rodríguez, Bryan Reyna, and Christian Cueva have been alternating in the starting lineup and, especially the latter, continues to be the most controversial and least accepted footballer among the fans of Alianza Lima due to previous disciplinary incidents and underperformance. In fact, at the end of the match against ADT, many fans reproached him for not showing a good physical level.

In the case of Edinson Chávez, the player is a regular substitute and when he has played due to Gino Peruzzi's past injury, he also did not convince overall. Finally, Andrés Andrade and Pablo Sabbag are players who have had a long break due to injuries and, on their part, the 'Jeque' is a few days away from being fit to finally join the first team. Therefore, in general, most of the involved players, whether due to injuries or being poorly considered, have not been a fundamental part of the team in this last stretch.

On the other hand, even though the footballers had a day off the next day, that is, on Sunday, the public handling of the situation was what caused annoyance among the fans of Alianza Lima since a few hours earlier, the club had lost clear chances of winning the Clausura Tournament. However, they looked in a very good mood and celebrating, while the blanquiazul fans still bore the bitter taste of the last draw. Despite going out to have fun, the exposure of the fact translated into a lack of empathy and commitment to the institution due to the moment they are going through in the championship and what is yet to be played.

An uncomfortable training

After this incident with some footballers, the atmosphere was not the best this Monday when the squad returned to training. In fact, unlike other days, they were called quite early, had a group conversation under the command of Mauricio Larriera regarding what happened, and then started with their daily training work.

Likewise, the extreme measure of police security and the presence of some fans outside EGB also caused discomfort for the club considering that, in this final stretch, external pressures are greater and the margin of error is reduced. Without a doubt, extradeportive factors are usually seen as a distraction.

Players' recovery

Regarding the purely sporting aspect, in the images that were circulated, Carlos Zambrano was seen consuming an alcoholic beverage and, considering his thigh tear, it was not good news since, according to sports medicine studies, the more alcohol is ingested, the more likely it is to damage blood flow and body rehydration, thus delaying the ability to repair and regenerate cells, including muscle tissue.

Therefore, considering that both Carlos Zambrano and Pablo Sabbag and Andrés Andrade are still in the recovery stage and, in the case of the first two, it is expected that they can arrive in good shape for possible finals, the atmosphere became even more controversial and questionable.
