Municipal gets excited and S. Boys complicates themselves: results that the councilors need to continue in Liga 1.

An unexpected twist received, this afternoon, the fight for survival in the top category of Peruvian football, after the Licenses Committee decided to deduct four points - in the accumulated table - from Sport Boys. In this way, the pink team - for now - have 34 points. With this, their situation becomes complicated regarding staying in the Liga 1 Betsson, filling Deportivo Municipal (31 points in the accumulated) with hope, who - until a couple of weeks ago - had already resigned to playing in Liga 2 in 2024.

With this new scenario, the team from the municipality is connected again to the artificial respirator and, although they have the first option to leave the First Division, they look optimistically to reverse their situation in the last matchday of the Clausura Tournament, where they will have to face the already relegated Cantolao.

But for Deportivo Municipal to be able to give joy to their fans, not only do they have to win the three points against the 'Delfín', but they also have to wait for other results. For the celebration to be complete, they have to cross their fingers for Sport Boys to lose to Cienciano, a club that is fighting to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana.

In addition to that, the team from the municipality will have to hope that Unión Comercio does not win in their visit to Atlético Grau, a team that does not have greater aspirations than to finish the 2023 season in the best way possible in Peruvian soccer. The match will take place at the Municipal de Bernal stadium.

The match between Deportivo Municipal and Cantolao is scheduled for this Saturday, starting at 1 pm, at the Iván Elías Moreno stadium in Villa El Salvador. Two hours later, the port team will host Cienciano at the Miguel Grau stadium. The following day, it will be the turn of Unión Comercio, who will visit Atlético Grau on Sunday 29th starting at 3 pm.

Keep an eye on the fact that a modification in the match schedules is not ruled out, as the mentioned teams will again play for survival in the Liga 1 Betsson, so they would play their matches simultaneously.
