After drawing with Alianza Lima in Matute, ADT still has a chance to win the 2023 Clausura Tournament title, much to the surprise of many, as most fans only see the fight between Universitario, Sporting Cristal, Melgar, and the blanquiazul team.
In that line, with their 33 points so far, the team from Tarma needs a series of results in order to become the champion of the second tournament of the season, and thus qualify for the semifinals of the Liga 1 with the hope of securing a spot in the grand national final against Alianza Lima.
What results does ADT need to be the Clausura champion?
To begin with, ADT needs to win against Carlos Mannucci playing at home to reach 36 points, although due to the goal difference, they have to do it with a difference of at least 9 goals and then hope that Universitario loses against Sport Huancayo, even if it's by the minimum, in order to surpass them at the top of the table.
However, the matter doesn't end there, as in case both unlikely results happen, the 'Vendaval' will have to pray for Sporting Cristal to lose or draw against Alianza Atlético in Lima, and for Melgar to lose against Deportivo Binacional in Juliaca. If all that happens, only one result will remain.
This is the most feasible result so far, as they will need Alianza Lima to tie or be defeated by Deportivo Garcilaso in Cusco. With that, the Clausura Tournament table would be as follows: ADT first with 36 points, Universitario second with 36, Melgar third with 35, Alianza Lima fourth with 35 (or 34 if they lose), and Sporting Cristal with 34 (or 33 if they lose).
