Although Alianza Lima has already qualified for the final of the Liga 1 Betsson, they were obliged to win this Saturday against ADT in order to maintain their chances of winning the Clausura 2023 Tournament on the last matchday. However, the 0-0 draw at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium and the poor performance of some players angered the fans in the stands, who targeted Christian Cueva with chants against him.
As seen during the match broadcast, while the midfielder was heading towards the locker rooms, the attendees at the 'blanquiazul' venue chanted his name. Remember that 'Aladino' joined Alianza Lima for this season and so far has not shown the credentials for which he was brought.
Cueva came on for Jesús Castillo in the 60th minute of the second half, with the aim of giving the team more play in the center of the field, an area where ADT was strong and resisted with great intensity. However, the number '23' looked erratic, slow, and far from his best version. Obviously, this angered the fans after the draw.
Later, in statements with Liga 1 MAX, Ángelo Campos referred to the reaction that came from the stands. According to the goalkeeper, the annoyance is normal considering what it means to be in Alianza Lima. "We are in Alianza and here they always demand the maximum, we all have bad games and it tends to happen now," he said.
When will Alianza Lima play again?
After this 0-0 draw against ADT, Alianza Lima will play again next week when they visit Deportivo Garcilaso for the nineteenth matchday of the Clausura 2023 Tournament of the Liga 1 Betsson. Although this match is not yet scheduled, it is known that it will be played at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega stadium and will be exclusively broadcasted for Peru by the Liga 1 MAX signal, while it can be watched in streaming on Liga 1 Play.
Since the 'blanquiazules' are still in the fight for the national title, it is of utmost importance that they manage to make an impact in Cusco. Remember that the last time both teams faced each other was in the Apertura, with a 3-2 victory for Alianza Lima with goals from Hernán Barcos (2) and Aldair Rodríguez; Jonathan Betancourt and Santiago Giordana scored the consolation goals for 'Garci'.
