The 'Tigre' is returning to his native Argentina on October 20 after attending the "People day by Bulk" event, where he gave a conference about his experience as a coach. Upon his arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport before taking his flight, he took photos with some fans who were in his way, asking him to take charge of the national team.

Gareca defends local league players

Although he was never asked about Juan Reynoso's controversial statements about local league players, the 65-year-old strategist referred to the issue, stating that Peruvians who play in the Liga 1 are at the same level as players from other South American leagues.

"Do Peruvians not run? Lie. Peruvians do run. We had data on how the other leagues, which are very competitive, were. We came across that fallacy. Peruvian players are on par with any of the best leagues in South America," he said.

Gareca is being targeted by other national teams

Although a large percentage of the fans want him back with the Blanquirroja jersey, Ricardo Gareca has options from other national teams such as Chile and Costa Rica, with the latter being the one that has been making the most noise in recent hours, but for now, he remains a free agent.
