Universitario receives bad news from CONMEBOL
Universitario de Deportes received bad news from CONMEBOL as they learned about the sanctions imposed by the South American entity for the events that occurred in their last match against Corinthians in the playoffs of the Copa Sudamericana.

This means that Universitario has been fined a total of 110,000 dollars for violating articles 15.2 and 12.2 of the disciplinary code of said sports entity.
"Impose a fine of 100,000 dollars on the Universitario de Deportes club for the violation of article 15.2 of the CONMEBOL Disciplinary Code. The amount of this fine will be automatically deducted from the amount the club receives from CONMEBOL for television rights or sponsorship. Impose a fine of 10,000 dollars on the Universitario de Deportes club for the violation of article 12.2 of the CONMEBOL Disciplinary Code, in accordance with article 27 of the same legal body," they stated.
And not only that, but the club will also have to carry out a series of actions, such as displaying a sign with the phrase "Basta de racismo" (Enough racism) prior to their next home game in a CONMEBOL competition (Libertadores or Sudamericana).
"Order the Universitario de Deportes club to carry out the following in their next home game in CONMEBOL competitions:
- Display a sign with the phrase "basta de racismo" in the protocol at the start of the game, when the teams are lining up in front of the honor stand.
- Display the phrase "Basta de Racismo" on the giant screen from kick-off until the end of the game, except during moments when the sports and commercial activations of the competition need to be displayed.
- Publish a communication campaign with the phrase "Basta de Racismo" on the official social media of the Universitario de Deportes club during the three days leading up to their next home game," they explained.
CONMEBOL warns Universitario about closing the stadium if any offense is repeated
Finally, CONMEBOL warned Universitario de Deportes that if any of these infractions are repeated, the disciplinary commission could partially or completely close the stadium for their next game.
"Expressly warn the Universitario de Deportes club that in the event of any offense to sports discipline of a similar nature being repeated, the Disciplinary Commission of CONMEBOL may determine the partial or total closure of the stadium for their next home game," they concluded.
