Alianza Lima became the first Peruvian team to qualify for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2024 this week after defeating Binacional in the Clausura Tournament. On the other hand, Sporting Cristal and Universitario have also secured a spot in the international tournament, but it has not yet been determined which phase these clubs will play.

It is important to note that they are not the only historic teams that will be present in this competition next year. In fact, the next edition of this tournament will feature clubs that have been champions on more than one occasion and come with the ambition to repeat the feat.

Among them is River Plate, who is under the technical direction of Martín Demichelis after Marcelo Gallardo's departure in the previous season. The 'Millonario' qualified after winning the Argentine Professional League 2023 and is once again one of the favorites to lift the Libertadores trophy.
Another big team that will be present is Sao Paulo FC, which has Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez among its figures. The 'Tricolor Paulista' won the Copa do Brasil and is shaping up as a tough opponent in 2024.
