Sporting Cristal will have a tough challenge against Cusco FC, for the 16th round of the Clausura Tournament of the Liga 1 Betsson: the mission of the team is to earn three points at Garcilaso de la Vega stadium (currently they have 30 points and are one point away from Melgar, the leader of this second part of the championship). However, there were other issues that were under scrutiny around the club. The last Wednesday, the midfielder Martin Tavara was involved in a car accident. In the midst of that context, Tiago Nunes -the coach of Sporting Cristal- gave details of what happened.
"A bigger problem has been generated than what happened. I myself crashed in Lima's traffic twice. My luck, at that moment, was that there was no one to take pictures. We know that the traffic is complex here," said the coach of the team in a dialogue with Liga 1 Radio.
Tiago Nunes explained the reason for the accident that Martin Tavara had, which -from his investigations- was not related to alcohol consumption by the midfielder of Sporting Cristal, but it was caused by the negligence of another driver.
"A car got in front of his and made his car unbalanced and crash into a wall. Thank God, nothing happened to him. He was fine. I asked him if he was drunk and he said no. Even people saw that it was not necessary for him to take an alcohol test," added the Brazilian strategist.
On the other hand, Tiago Nunes also expressed his concern about different extradeportive issues that have invaded Sporting Cristal in the last seasons and that -coincidentally, in his perspective- were disclosed by the media and social networks in the final stretch of the local championship.
"I have found out that -in recent years- always with Sporting Cristal, there is a media issue at the end of the tournament and I don't know why, they are those coincidences that happen in Peruvian football. Then, the Twitter users and people from the networks start generating internal problems for the club to solve," he concluded.
It should be noted that after the traffic accident that occurred in Surquillo, Martin Tavara sent the following message through his social networks: "To all those who have worried about me, through messages and calls, I wanted to thank you and let you know that fortunately I am fine after last night's incident with my car. I appreciate the affection and concern. We continue strong for the goal. Strength SC!"
