One of the most iconic players that Sporting Cristal had was the remembered Erick Delgado, given that he always showed his support for the institution and his great composure when facing matches with the blue jersey.
This is precisely something that characterizes him from head to toe, and for that reason, the 'Loco' recounted some anecdotes that he experienced within the institution, one of them being his fight with a coach and some players of the team from Rímac.
He revealed this in a recent interview with former footballer Luis Guadalupe, to whom he revealed that he had a strong confrontation with coach Wilmar Valencia and with some players like Pingo and Julinho. However, Delgado stated that it was always due to the heat of the game, as they would end up hugging each other.
"I remember having fought with Wilmar, he also had character, but then we became friends. I used to fight with Pingo, he would talk and talk and I couldn't understand anything because he spoke in Portuguese. I also fought with Julinho, but in the locker rooms we would hug each other", he said on 'La Fe del Cuto'.
Erick Delgado said why he would fight with journalists
On the other hand, Erick Delgado also explained why he always had conflicts with journalists in Peruvian football, explaining that now with a cool head, he feels that those things were not right.
"I used to have really bad fights with journalists, I would tell them 'you go and save goals', I was spoilt, that was not right, I should have handled it differently. When I played for the national team and I was blamed for Chile's goal, I was affected, for those months until the next qualifying match, I would fight with everyone, I was a spark", he concluded.
