The Liga 1 is about to start on a new date that promises to bring a lot of excitement for fans. In fact, Alianza Lima, Universitario, and Sporting Cristal are tied in the Torneo Clausura 2023 with 26 points, however, Melgar is surprising in first place with 28 points.

Amidst this dispute to reach the Liga 1 final, important national clubs can be known that are fighting to secure an international spot in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana 2024. What teams are we talking about?

Well, just before starting matchday 14 of Peruvian football, Alianza Lima is positioned as the leader of the standings, Sporting Cristal is in second place, while Universitario is in third place. On the other hand, Melgar de Arequipa remains in the fourth position and very close to the great Peruvian teams.

Under this context, if the tournament were to end, these four teams would be qualifying for the Copa Libertadores 2024, however, the first two teams would have direct access; on the other hand, the remaining two would go to the preliminary phase as Peru 3 and 4, respectively.

On the other hand, if we focus on the Copa Sudamericana 2024, we have Sport Huancayo, Deportivo Garcilaso, Cusco FC, and César Vallejo, from fifth to eighth place in the overall table of the Liga 1 2023.
