Sport Boys tied 1-1 at home against Sporting Cristal. What would be a celebration after playing a match at the Miguel Grau stadium in Callao had a different outcome after the referee's whistle. One of the players from the pink squad, Fabrizio Roca, was assaulted by apparent fans of the opposing team as he was arriving at his home.
YOU CAN SEE: Fabrizio Roca from Boys may have been assaulted by Cristal fans: this is how his face looked.
After his teammates Jesús Barco and Marcio Valverde shared the unfortunate incident he experienced, Fabrizio Roca spoke on the Fútbol en América cameras to tell what happened and publicly denounce the aggression he suffered from pseudo-fans of Sporting Cristal. He also spoke in detail about the brutal attack.
"Several cars started to pull over. All I did was run, if I had stayed there they would have attacked me. As I started running, a big stone hit me, and well, they are Cristal fans, they were wearing their team shirts, they always gather there. There are people who call themselves fans, but they are just criminals. This time it happened to me, it could happen to another colleague, I'm not going to let this go unnoticed," he commented.
Roca was with his sister during the attack
The footballer recounted that his sister went out to see what was happening when she heard the screams and was also a victim of the insanity of the criminals dressed as fans. "I feel anger because this is football that fans should enjoy; but unfortunately now they went after a player," he concluded.
Sport Boys issued a statement
After the incident, the Sport Boys club informed through their social media that their player Fabrizio Roca received the necessary medical attention and is in good hands. They also reported that the player approached the nearest police station to file the respective complaint so that his case does not go unpunished. However, it was confirmed that the institution will also take legal action.
