A few days ago, Alianza Lima struck first in the Women's League final: they won 1-0 with a goal from Heidy Padilla, at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium. However, at Universitario de Deportes, they are aware that the tie is still open and they are already adjusting all the details for the return match, which will take place this Saturday at the Monumental stadium. In this context, it was confirmed in the last hours that the referee in charge of said match is someone with extensive experience in the Liga 1 Betsson.
In that sense, the organizers of the competition announced that the referee Bruno Pérez will be the central referee of the match between the crema and the blanquiazules, to be held this Saturday - starting at 7 p.m. - at the facilities of the Monumental stadium in Ate.
It was also confirmed that the national referee will be accompanied by Stephen Atoche (first assistant) and Alberth Alarcón (second assistant) in the actions for the second leg of the final between Universitario de Deportes and Alianza Lima, with Huber Barboza as fourth referee and Silvia Reyes as advisor.
It should be noted that the blanquiazules are the current two-time champions of the competition, but the merengues want to rely on their fans (almost 25,000 tickets have already been sold for the women's classic) and reverse a complicated tie.
How is the final defined in case of a tie in the overall score?
According to the rules of the Women's League, the champion club will be determined by the overall result, after the home and away matches have been played. In this case, Alianza Lima has a goal in their favor, so winning their second match or drawing it would be enough to win the tournament. However, Universitario de Deportes could turn that score around in their home ground and with their people.
In that case, the 'leonas' will have to win by a score of 2-0 or more in order to win the title. If they only win by the minimum score at the Monumental, the title will be determined by penalties, with goalkeepers Annie Del Carpio (for 'U') and Maryory Sánchez (for the 'intimas') capturing all the spotlight.
