UCV Coach Sebastian Abreu Breaks VAR Screen in Frustration
UCV Coach Sebastian Abreu spoke out about his behavior in his team's recent match against ADT de Tarma, where he angrily punched a VAR screen.
In a statement released on X platform, the popular "loco" took responsibility for his actions and expressed willingness to accept any punishment that may be imposed on him.
"I address all of you in order to acknowledge that my behavior during the football match between UCV and ADT was completely out of line. I want to take full responsibility for my actions and I am willing to accept any punishment and cover the expenses involved as a result of my actions," stated the Uruguayan coach.
VAR SCREEN
As recalled, the former "Celeste" player vented his fury and frustration on a VAR screen due to the 1-1 draw against Tarma. Initially, referee Augusto Menendez added 6 minutes of additional time, but the game went on until the 98th minute, when Hernan Rengifo scored the equalizer for the visitors.
Initially, the VAR referees called the main referee to review the goal due to a possible foul, but Menendez verified its validity, which infuriated the UCV coach. With this result, the "poets" extended their winless streak to five matches in the Clausura tournament.
