Peru at the 2023 Oscar Awards!
The Ministry of Culture (Mincul) announced through their Instagram account the list of Peruvian films that will be submitted to the next most important gala in the global film industry. "Soltera Codiciada 2" by Joanna Lombardi, among other films, will seek to elevate the name of the country and its film industry.
"Soltera Codiciada 2" one step closer to the 2024 Oscar Awards
Mincul announced that "Soltera Codiciada 2", "Reinas sin Corona", and "La erección de Toribio Bardelli" are the chosen films to represent us at the 2024 Oscar Awards, which will take place on March 10th of next year. Likewise, it was indicated that a committee made up of different representatives of the Peruvian cinema were responsible for this selection.
"The 6 films that applied through the open call were viewed by guilds and associations in our country. The results will be announced next week," reads the publication of the cultural entity of the State.
It is worth mentioning that these national films must undergo a pre-nomination process in order to reach the 2024 Oscar Awards, considered the most important gala in the global film industry. The results will be published next week.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Culture also announced the three films that will represent us in the 38th edition of the Goya Awards. "La Pampa", "Willaq Pirqa, el cine de mi pueblo", and "Tiempo Futuros".
