He apologized for his past: goal by 'Felucho' Rodríguez for the 1-0 of Cusco FC vs. Alianza Lima [VIDEO]

Hace un año

After a controversial foul by Ricardo Lagos on Abdiel Ayarza, Felipe Rodríguez converted the penalty into a goal and put Cusco FC ahead 1-0 against Alianza Lima.

When the minutes of extra time were being played in the first half between Alianza Lima and Cusco FC, the imperial team found the path to goal after a reckless foul by Ricardo Lagos on Abdiel Ayarza. After consulting the VAR, Joel Alarcón awarded the penalty and Felipe Rodríguez –with a past in the victorian team– didn't fail to make it 1-0 partially at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega stadium.

The penalty action was generated by 'Felucho' himself, who combined with Ayarza to surprise the 'blanquiazul' central defense. In a miscalculation from Lagos, the Panamanian forward ended up on the ground and the Cusco team vehemently claimed the penalty. The VAR assistants called Alarcón to confirm the action, which was validated by the main referee.

Face to face with Ángelo Campos, Rodríguez confidently executed the penalty and didn't put Cusco FC's advantage at risk. In addition to apologizing for his past at Alianza Lima –he played there in 2019–, the Uruguayan greeted his family in the stands. With this goal, he reached seven in the Liga 1 Betsson 2023.
