Continues the tension around Deportivo Municipal. On a sports level, the 'edil' team has accumulated five consecutive defeats (against Alianza Lima, Melgar and Binacional, ADT and D. Garcilaso) and today they occupy the last place in the standings in the Clausura Tournament of Liga 1 Betsson. Now, on the administrative level their current situation is more delicate: the Licensing Tribunal of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) suspended the club's license for one match, so the match against Atlético Grau, scheduled for matchday 8, will not be played.
According to the document issued by the sports organization, the 'Academia' received a one-match suspension and a fine of one Tax Unit (UIT), equivalent to 4,950 soles (which must be paid within a maximum period of 30 calendar days), for non-compliance with its financial obligations. Unfortunately, this is not the only sanction that the 'edil' squad has received so far this season.
On July 25, the Licensing Commission of the FPF resolved to suspend the Club's License for not complying with the payment schedule for the second time this year. On that occasion, the punishment was for two matches, affecting the matches against ADT and Deportivo Garcilaso; however, the institution was given approval to play and appeared in both matches, although without success in terms of results (lost in Lima 1-2 and later in Cusco 5-2).
Another detail to note is that, so far this year, Municipal has lost five points for non-payment. Likewise, since the start of the season, they have lost one game by Walk Over and another administratively to Carlos A. Mannucci (the first due to their position regarding broadcasting rights).
This leaves the team on the verge of relegation, as they currently occupy the last place in the Clausura table with three points in seven matches, while in the Accumulated table they are in 18th position and have 21 points in 25 matches. This is in addition to the significant migration of players they suffered in the middle of the year, after the departure of some players at the end of the Apertura.
In the coming days, the 'edil' institution must respond to the resolution issued by the TL-FPF in order to compete in the local tournament. However, if they do not accumulate more points in the remaining matches, they run the risk of being relegated in the current season.
