After the victory that Universitario de Deportes achieved over FBC Melgar in the seventh round of the Clausura Tournament, the Uruguayan strategist Jorge Fossati gave statements to the press about this very important win, ensuring that it was not easy to play in such a complicated venue like the city of Arequipa.

"I had said it before and it happened: we played against one of the best teams in the Clausura and that's why it was going to be a complicated match. It is true that in the first half we could have taken more advantage. We had clear opportunities, but by only having a one-goal advantage, it is acceptable that it is harder for the opponents from the plains, even I believe that maybe because we didn't regulate in the first half, the effort was felt in the second half and thanks to God we were able to solve it with the substitutions," he said in a press conference.
In that regard, one of the journalists present in this space asked the Uruguayan strategist for his opinion on Alex Valera's goal, however, he mentioned that the Peruvian's goal was 'fortuitous', something that Fossati did not tolerate and gave a firm response.
"Saying that it was a fortuitous goal is like saying that Valera was just hanging around and the goalkeeper gave it to him, so I do not agree. How could I not be happy with the team's performance? We didn't win because of a fortuitous play," he explained.
