  • How did Alianza negotiate with Larriera and what were the reasons for the coach to arrive at Matute?

Getting a victory at home is almost an obligation for the íntimos for three reasons. The first and most urgent is to try to climb in the Clausura Tournament table, considering that it is in ninth place with 9 points and the leaders (Sporting Cristal, FBC Melgar, and Universitario) lead by five. On the other hand, it is a match in which they could return to unbeaten at home, since Alianza Lima has won all its matches at Matute, except for the draws against 'U' and the celestial team.

It should also be noted that they have four complicated away games in high altitude and the points in Lima have no margin for error. Finally, winning this Saturday would be the ideal context to start the era of Mauricio Larriera, considering that he will debut in the next match and they hope that, by then, there is no pressure to have a streak of winless matches.

The match against the Cajamarca team will be Nixon Perea's last as interim coach in charge of the blanquiazules. For this match, the Colombian coach will repeat the same approach as in his first match against Universidad César Vallejo and will continue using three central defenders in the back under the 3-4-2-1 system, although with different interpreters.

In goal, the presence of Ángelo Campos is a certainty. In the line of three, Carlos Zambrano, Pablo Míguez, and Santiago García would remain, respectively. The midfield will be divided with Josepmir Ballón and Jesús Castillo in the center, while Aldair Rodríguez will play on the right and Bryan Reyna on the left.

At first sight

Mauricio Larriera, the new coach of the íntimo team, will be present at the match between Alianza Lima and UTC. From his place in the box seats, the 52-year-old Uruguayan strategist will have his first approach to the blanquiazul team that he will lead from now on. Likewise, it will be the setting for his reunion with the stadium and the victorian fans he met in 2007 when he was assistant coach to Gerardo Pelusso.

According to the plan, Mauricio Larriera will arrive in Lima along with part of his coaching staff on Saturday, August 5th in the morning. A few hours later, he will head to the Alejandro Villanueva stadium to get a closer look at the team he will lead in search of the national tricampeonato.
