Celebrations for National Holidays came with a series of holidays, which started last Thursday, July 27. These days off allowed people to engage in different activities outside of Lima. However, citizens have doubts about whether TODAY, Monday, July 31, has been declared a holiday or non-working day by the Peruvian government. Is it really a non-working day? We'll tell you here.

Remember that a holiday is a mandatory rest day that is paid and can be compensated with another day off or with payment for the working day. Non-working days are dates established by the government with a Supreme Decree for the worker not to attend work, but he/she must make up for the hours missed.

Is Monday, July 31 a holiday?

It is possible that some private companies extend the days off for their employees, but Monday, July 31 is not a holiday or non-working day in Peru. The Executive Branch has not declared any law for the employees not to go to work on that date.

If you are thinking of extending your days off or traveling, you should keep in mind that the long weekend for the celebrations of National Holidays will end on Sunday, July 30, and then all companies will return to work as usual.

What happens if I worked on July 29?

People who worked on July 28 and 29 will be entitled to additional days off or to receive triple daily remuneration for each holiday.
