On the verge of relegation! Municipal was sanctioned with a license suspension in Liga 1.

Days of tension in the ‘Academy’. In terms of football, Deportivo Municipal has suffered three consecutive defeats (against Alianza Lima, Melgar, and Binacional), and institutionally the present is more delicate: it happens that in the last few hours, the club has been notified once again of a sanction by the Licensing Committee of the Peruvian Football Federation (CL-FPF), which puts the ‘Franja’ on the brink of relegation. All of this happens just before the clash against ADT, for matchday 6 of the Liga 1 Betsson.

And it turns out that the municipal team has allegedly failed to comply with a payment schedule for the second time this year; therefore, this would prevent them from playing the match against the team from Tarma: it would be their second infringement this year (the first one was penalized with a deduction of points).

"Applying to the Centro Deportivo Municipal, in accordance with the provisions of numeral (vii), literal a, of article 106.1 of the Licensing Regulations, this is, suspension of the license for a period of 02 matches of the championship, for the sixth infringement of article 89 of the Licensing Regulations," details the resolution, as reported by RPP.

Can Municipal be relegated?

If the sanction against Deportivo Municipal is confirmed by the Licensing Committee of the Peruvian Football Federation (CL-FPF), the municipal team would have their second 'walkover' in the current edition of the Liga 1 Betsson, following the match they lost to Carlos A. Mannucci on matchday 3 of the Torneo Apertura (on that occasion, it was due to their stance regarding TV rights).

In the midst of this scenario, the municipal team has three calendar days to present their defense and appeal this resolution, which is the only way that would allow the 'La Franja' to play their match against ADT on Tuesday, at the Iván Elías Moreno Stadium.

A week later, Deportivo Municipal was supposed to face Deportivo Garcilaso, although these matches have become uncertain.
