Deportivo Municipal is going through a difficult time in 2023. The Licenses Commission of the Peruvian Football Federation has decided to suspend the license of the Municipal team just a few days before the match against Carlos Mannucci in the Liga 1 Betsson.

This sanction is due to the lack of payments to the staff by the institution. Through a statement, it was reported that the club committed an infringement of article 88 of the Licenses Regulations and was fined three UITs. In addition, the match against the Trujillo team in the Liga 1 Betsson is suspended.

"Deportivo Municipal has committed an infringement of article 88 of the Licenses Regulations. Apply to Deportivo Municipal a fine of three UITs for committing a fourth infringement of article 88 of the Licenses Regulations," the statement begins.

"Determine that Deportivo Municipal has committed an infringement of article 89 of the Licenses Regulations. Apply in accordance with the provisions of numeral, literal a, of article 106.1 of the Licenses Regulations, that is, suspension of the license for a period of 1 match of the championship for a fifth infringement of article 89 of the Licenses Regulations," it continues.

With this resolution, Deportivo Municipal would accumulate its second walkover in the local tournament, a situation that would put them at risk of relegation. However, the Licenses Commission stated that the club has three calendar days to challenge the resolution.
