Racing Club de Avellaneda announces Paolo Guerrero's departure

Victor Blanco, President of Racing Club de Avellaneda, spoke out after the club announced the departure of Peruvian forward Paolo Guerrero, who sought to terminate his contract due to a lack of opportunities in the team led by Fernando Gago.

In an interview with El Comercio, the leader of "La Academia" emphasized that "El Depredador" is beloved by both the team and the fans and stated that it was impossible to prevent his departure, which will be officially confirmed this Friday when the forward signs his contract termination.

"Paolo Guerrero is loved by everyone. We would have to ask him why he decided to terminate his contract. It was completely impossible to keep him, and a person cannot be in a place where they are not happy," expressed Blanco.

The search for a forward made him uncomfortable

Lautaro Salucho, journalist from TyC Sports, mentioned that the Peruvian National Team attacker will return to his residence in Rio de Janeiro and analyze the best options he has to continue his career. He also indicated that one of the reasons that motivated his departure was the club's search for a forward, considering that Paolo was not getting the playing time he desired.

"The fact that Racing is looking for a forward didn't sit well with him, considering that he wasn't getting the minutes he wanted. Furthermore, he saw himself more and more outside than inside the starting eleven," he said.
