After having coached him at Sporting Lisbon, and also at Al-Hilal, Jorge Jesus will once again be in charge of Peruvian André Carrillo.

The technical director Jorge Jesus recently became the runner-up in the Turkish Super League with Fenerbahce, and after finishing his contract, he was announced last Saturday through Al-Hilal's social media as the new coach, and he will be able to reunite with an old acquaintance: André Carrillo.

According to Globoesporte, Jorge Jesus had been in the orbit of Saudi Arabia to take charge of the national team. However, he decided to put on the Blue team shirt again after five years, after options like Tite, Mourinho, and Allegri had also been among Al-Hilal's plans.

Jorge Jesus, the 'father' of André Carrillo

The Portuguese manager and the Peruvian André Carrillo have had the opportunity to coincide twice in the same clubs. The first time was when both were at Sporting Lisbon, back when 'the snake' was just emerging in Europe.

While the second time was when the strategist was leading Al-Hilal and requested Carrillo's signing to add him to his squad. "The possibilities of signing are not up to me. It's a matter of taste and me requesting things, also seeing which players Benfica had available. And he is a player we were interested in (Carrillo)," Jesus said days before André's signing.

On the other hand, during a past interview, Carrillo referred to Jorge Jesus as his 'father' and confessed a pleasant moment he lived with him when the coach became champion with Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores. "You could say Jorge Jesus is my father in football. I can't deny it. I spoke to him after the Copa Libertadores final. I congratulated him and helped his family in Lima. He lost some finals and the Libertadores title put him in glory. It was nice to meet him at the Club World Cups".

Palmares of Jorge Jesus as a technical director

Since 2009, he took charge of Benfica in Portugal, where he managed to win eleven titles. In 2015, he joined Sporting Lisbon, where he added two more titles to his name.

After that, during his first stay in Al-Hilal, he was crowned champion of the Saudi League, and then he arrived at Flamengo, the team with which he won five titles: Campeonato Carioca, Brasileirao, Supercopa do Brasil, Copa Libertadores, and Recopa Sudamericana. Undoubtedly, Jorge Jesus has the most coveted titles by coaches.
