Due to indiscipline, Deportivo Garcilaso separated nine players from the club's reserve team.

Deportivo Garcilaso announced, through social media, that they have decided to separate nine members of the reserves team. According to the issued statement, this sanction was due to the players not complying with the discipline rules imposed by the club in order to preserve good order and respect for the institution. The imperial team will seek to renew its squad for the remainder of the Promotion and Reserves Tournament.

"Deportivo Garcilaso informs the fans, media, and the general public that, after conducting an investigation, it has decided to remove 9 members of the promotion and reserves team due to acts of indiscipline,", reads the written statement.

"We must remember that our institution's main objective is to shape athletes with values and does not tolerate negative behavior and acts of indiscipline that tarnish the club's image and honor,", they added as the basis for making this decision.

The latest results in the Promotion and Reserves Tournament also contribute to the club's bad situation: they have only won 1 out of 4 played matches. In the last round, they lost (0-2) against Alianza Lima. They have 2 defeats and are in thirteenth place.

How is Deportivo Garcilaso doing in the Liga 1?

The main team of Deportivo Garcilaso has had a regular campaign, placing them in eighth place in the Apertura Tournament. The team led by Jorge Célico played 18 matches, winning six, drawing seven, and losing five. Santiago Giordana is one of their main figures: the forward has scored 13 goals and is the top scorer in the Liga 1 Betsson.
