José Sabogal and the challenges that await him as the new manager of Alianza Lima.

Alianza Lima changed administration after the departure of Fernando Salazar and will now have to face the challenges left by the previous management for the benefit of the club's interests.

By majority vote, José Sabogal was elected as the new administrator of Alianza Lima and took office with the desire to continue the development and organization that characterized the institution of La Victoria in recent years. It should be noted that the businessman took on the position with the background of being the representative of JMS Avisor, the corporation that made an offer to Corporate Kapital Market and the three members of the Fondo Blanquiazul (Salomón Lerner, Antonio Armejo, and Fernando Farah) who decided to sell their shares.

What are the challenges at Alianza Lima?

However, the question that Alianza Lima fans are asking themselves revolves around the future of the club under the new administration. As is known, Sabogal will have to face important challenges during his term, such as finding a solution to the television rights problem with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), which is currently in the judicial process.

As known, the club has stopped receiving a lot of money for this concept to the detriment of sports infrastructure projects, such as the purchase of a high-performance center and the remodeling and enlargement of Matute for a capacity of 50 thousand people.

Mace Group, the English company in charge of the project, has the plan ready for execution. The global consulting and construction company proposes six stages for the remodeling of Matute: ranging from the development of new stands to the commercial area of the stadium. The first phases that correspond to the capacity expansion have a cost of 40 million dollars.

Fernando Salazar, former club administrator, confirmed this during an interview with Gestión. He also pointed out that the purchase of the High-Performance Center has not yet been finalized. "We are in search of the land. The purchase of the Las Garzas club is still pending, but we have two other possibilities," he said.

Preliminarily, Salazar warned that the club has stopped receiving television rights income since the beginning of the year. "The new agreement with Consorcio Fútbol Perú was for a period of 12 years and it was around $100 million, but we are still waiting," he indicated. This important agreement will serve to finance the institution's infrastructure projects.

But that's not all, also the fact of ratifying the current coaching staff, led by Guillermo Salas, who has just celebrated winning the Torneo Apertura and will seek to achieve the threepeat at the end of the year. As is known, 'Chicho' and his workgroup were chosen by the previous administration led by Fernando Salazar, and that marked a before and after in the club. The bicampeonato was achieved last year and now the goal is greater. For now, there has been no statement from the new management on this matter.

What there was, however, was a statement from the Alianza Lima club on social networks, highlighting Sabogal's academic and professional trajectory, as well as his intention to do things right at Matute. "This new management will work at all times respecting the history, identity, values, and greatness that characterize our institution," the publication reads.
