The 'Puma' maintained the rhythm throughout the match and never lowered his guard. Although he struggled in the third set, he ended up winning with the following scores: 11-7, 11-7, 10-12, and 11-6. The 'cafetero' Vargas was no match for our compatriot and had to succumb to his agility.
This 2023 has been very fruitful for Diego Elías, as the Pan American title he won this Saturday is not the first one he adds to his list this year. Previously, he also won the Morgan Tournament, Motor City Open, and Pittsburgh Open.

This was not all for Diego Elías, as previously, together with Alonso Escudero and Rafael Gálvez, the national squash team won the silver medal in the team event at the Pan American Championship. This result is equally important as it qualified them for the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games.
