Peru with Dota 2 gives us joy again, this time with the outstanding qualification of the Peruvian National Team for the only spot in our region in the IESF WEC 2023 tournament, which will be held in Iasi, Romania, from August 25th to September 3rd, with a prize pool of $100,000.
To achieve this important qualification, they had to defeat the teams from the South Cone region of America, which were formed by Chile, Brazil, and Argentina in a round-robin format with best-of-one matches.
On Tuesday, May 30th, they faced the Chilean team, where they won with no problems. Then, they had to face Brazil, which consisted of 4 players from the Infamous Gaming team. The match was more intense, but in the mid-game, the Peruvian squad took control again and won the game.
To the surprise of many, Argentina had defeated Brazil and Chile, leaving the score at 2-0, just like Peru. On Wednesday, May 31st, Peru and Argentina faced each other for the spot in Romania. Early in the game, the albicelestes dominated the match, but the Peruvian team organized themselves to engage in good fights that ultimately led them to qualify.
Coming soon, the Peruvian players will join the selected players from other disciplines in PES 2023 and Tekken 7 at the Claro gaming High Performance Center to prepare for the IESF WEC 2023 Global Finals in Iasi, Romania. The Peruvian Esports Association (PESA) is an official member of the IESF and is in charge of Peru's participation in international team competitions.
