Next match of Alianza Lima in Copa Libertadores
Alianza Lima will return to the Copa Libertadores on Tuesday, June 6 for the match against Atlético Mineiro, which is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium.
In his own style, Sergio 'Checho' Ibarra addressed Alianza Lima's recent title in the Torneo Apertura, which allows the 'blanquiazules' to dream of the coveted three-time championship. However, the host issued a warning not to lose focus on the Copa Libertadores.
The former footballer from Universitario de Deportes warned that Chicho Salas' team must end the celebration for the first part of the Liga 1, as a complex match is coming up against Atlético Mineiro.
"Be careful, Alianza fans, stop celebrating and all that, because on Tuesday you will play in the Copa Libertadores against Mineiro, who have 6 points and you have 4. You have to win or die," emphasized 'Checho' Ibarra on Latina Deportes.
Sergio Ibarra also added that Alianza Lima has no room for error in this match, as the table in their Libertadores group is tight with a minimal difference in points, considering that the 'íntimos' are currently last.
"Paranaense plays at home against Libertad, who have 6, and Paranaense has 9. And on the last matchday, on June 27, they have to play against Paranaense... In other words, out of the 6 points, they have to win at least 4 and pray that neither Libertad wins," he explained.
