However, the task is titanic since they not only need an almost perfect score, but also the additional ingredient of Guillermo Salas' team not adding points from here until the last matchday 19.
The clubs that can mathematically win the Opening Tournament
Universitario de Deportes
The 'U' is 8 points behind Alianza, so they need the blanquiazul team to lose at least their next three matches and they win their next three duels, in order to reach the last matchday with a superiority of 1 unit and depending on themselves to win the title.
Carlos Mannucci and Cusco FC
Both teams are 10 points behind Alianza Lima, so they require that Alianza Lima does not add three points in their next four matches and that either of them wins everything that remains in the Opening Tournament. It is clear that mathematically they can, but they do not depend at all on themselves.
Sporting Cristal
The celeste team is the last one with a chance to win the Opening Tournament, but they also have it more complicated due to the enormous difference in the standings, as Alianza Lima surpasses them by 11 units. The scenario for Tiago Nunes' team to win the first part of the year is that 'los victorianos' lose everything that remains of the championship and they win absolutely everything from here until the last matchday. Difficult, but not impossible.
