Alliance Atlético defeated Universitario de Deportes 3-1 in Sullana, thus ending Jorge Fossati's undefeated streak in charge of the Cremas. However, for many, the result was influenced by the referee of the match, as there were three expulsions. This is an opinion that the player Piero Serra does not share at all.
During the match between the Cremas and the Northerners, there were five expulsions, with Rodrigo Ureña, Nelson Cabanillas, and Aldo Corzo being the ones shown the red card by Universitario. After the game, many fans blamed the main referee for having harmed their team in a match that led to distancing themselves from Alianza Lima.
Under that premise, Serra declared for Radio Ovación and was categorical about it. "I see that people say that thanks to the referee we won, but that's not true, we also have the merit of winning it," said the Alianza Atlético de Sullana player.
On the other hand, he was cautioned and commented on how he was able to handle it so as not to end up with another red card. "After being cautioned, we talked in the dressing room with the coach at halftime and I told him that it would be better if I could be substituted since the referee was showing too many cards," he added.
Finally, the northern player confessed that Aldo Corzo was rightfully sent off, as the Peruvian national team player approached him in an aggressive manner for no reason and they even insulted each other. With this result, the team from Sullana is currently in tenth place with 19 points.
