Through their social networks, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru announced nationwide about the issuance of 10 million coins that will begin to circulate nationwide. Remember that with this numismatic series, it is intended to commemorate the historical characters of Peru's independence.
The new one-sol coin weighs 7.32 g, its diameter is 25.50 mm, and on the obverse is the Coat of Arms. In addition, around it is written "Central Reserve Bank of Peru" along with the minting of the current year.
Who was Francisco Xavier de Luna Pizarro?
He was a Peruvian politician and lawyer who held the role of rector at the College of Medicine of San Fernando at the University of San Marcos. His illness and age did not prevent him from defending his ideals despite the persecutions. His political base was thanks to the education he received in Spain between 1809 and 1811. His liberalism had a notable influence on the constitutions of 1823, 1828, and 1834.
