Christian Cueva gave statements after the match in which Alianza Lima defeated Unión Comercio 3-1 for the 13th round of the Torneo Apertura. In that game, he played from the start and was sent off by referee Diego Haro after being substituted.
The former midfielder of Sao Paulo and Santos showed his anger for receiving the red card. Thus, he indicated that his expulsion was unfair.
"I don't feel comfortable talking about these kind of things, but I want to speak the truth. That's the situation that makes me sit here... Because first, there's my integrity as a person, as a player, and as part of the national team," 'Aladino' expressed.
"I don't want to speak to harm anyone, but I also don't want to be harmed. What bothers me is that things are said to make the player look bad, I don't know with what purpose," he continued to América Deportes.
Cueva emphasized that "his expulsion is not fair" and that "the fourth official called Haro and he sent me off, I didn't understand it because all I said was 'why are you giving eight minutes' and I repeated it loudly."
