Alianza Lima's squad traveled to Tarapoto this Saturday, with the aim of adding three points against Unión Comercio and staying at the top of the standings of the 2023 Apertura Tournament. The 'blanquiazules' are aware that they have a very tight schedule - with the rescheduling of several Liga 1 matches - so they will have to manage their squad over the next few weeks. In this regard, Christian Cueva gave his point of view and lamented having to go through such a situation.

"We have to be prepared for these things and today we are made for it, I see the group very well, hopefully, both things can happen," he said to the media at Jorge Chávez airport.

Cueva did not hold back and pointed out the organization of the championship for the little consideration they have had with Alianza Lima after their participation in the Copa Libertadores, since, according to the midfielder, they have not had enough time to rest. "There are so many things to improve in our football, hopefully, it will be solved and there is discomfort that they cannot give us a hand as Peruvians, as a team representing the country in the Copa Libertadores, that they cannot make an observation to our request for rest," he added.

"My teammates have made an enormous sacrifice, I didn't get to play but I see the sacrifice they make. After a long time, I am experiencing this, I hope it doesn't happen again," said the player born in Huamachuco.

"It is very uncomfortable and the things I have to say, I say them and hopefully we can correct this and not only with Alianza, because we want Peruvian football to grow and we cannot harm ourselves," he emphasized.

When will Alianza Lima play again?

After this historic victory at the Defensores del Chaco stadium, Alianza Lima will play again on Sunday, April 23 when they visit Unión Comercio in Tarapoto, for the 13th round of the 2023 Apertura Tournament. The match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and will be played at the Carlos Vidaurre García stadium.

As for the Copa Libertadores, the team led by Guillermo Salas will face Atlético Mineiro on Wednesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mineirão stadium, for the third matchday of Group G. As they are leaders with four points, this will be an unbeatable opportunity for the 'Íntimos' to reaffirm their chances of qualifying for the round of 16.
