The demand for electromobility has been gaining strength this 2023 and everything indicates that it will double by the end of the year with the entry of five brands that will start selling 100% electric cars.
According to the latest statistics from the Peruvian Automotive Association (AAP), there are 20 brands that sell hybrid cars (gasoline and electric motors) and less than five that offer 100% electric cars.
Among the brands that will start selling battery electric cars are General Motors with the Chevrolet Bolt model, Nissan with E-Power, Ford with Maverick Hybrid, Mustang Mach-E, and E-Transit, and Mercedes-Benz with the Mercedes-EQ SUVs.
As you may remember, there is a bill that would reduce the taxes on electric vehicle imports from 18% to 14% in order to promote this new mode of transportation that seeks to eradicate environmental pollution.
